FVMQ FluoroSilicone rubber gaskets are made of fluorosilicone or fluorinated silicone rubber.Fluorosilicone, sometimes referred to as FVMQ. Regular Silicone gaskets should not be used with substances that include oil or petroleum. Fluorosilicone is then used in this situation. The fluorsilicone gaskets are resistant to very hot temperatures. Additionally, they are resistant to solvents, oils, and other substances made from petroleum.

The fluorsilicone gaskets are resistant to very hot temperatures. Additionally, they are resistant to solvents, oils, and other substances made from petroleum.

Fluorosilicone FVMQ gasket material is not recommended for dynamic applications due to its poor tear strength and tensile. It does not do well with oils. It does however do well in most gasketing (static) applications and seals at lower bolt loads than most rubber materials due to its low durometer.

Application

The temperature range on most silicone gasket materials is -40 C to +230°C . Consult with us for your specific application.

Fluorosilicone has a high coefficient of friction, low abrasion resistance, and limited physical strength, making it appropriate for static sealing applications but not for dynamic sealing operations.

Fluorosilicone is a very adaptable material that may be utilized in a variety of sealing applications, including outdoor applications and those that are exposed to sunshine, ozone, chlorinated or aromatic hydrocarbons, and it is frequently specified for aerospace usage. FMVQ has strong resistance to gasoline, oil, and solvents and good compression set characteristics. These characteristics of the material remain unchanged throughout a temperature range of -75° to 400°F (-59° to 204°C).
