Wide Range Of Uses For O-rings

May 10, 2022

Rubber O-ring is suitable for use in petroleum-based hydraulic oil, glycol-based hydraulic oil, diester-based lubricating oil, gasoline, water, silicone grease, silicone oil, and other media. It is the most widely used and lowest cost rubber seal. Not suitable for use in polar solvents such as ketones, ozone, nitro hydrocarbons, MEK, and chloroform. The general operating temperature range is -40~200 ℃. HNBR hydrogenated nitrile rubber O-ring: It has excellent corrosion resistance, tear-resistance, and compression deformation resistance, and has good ozone resistance, sunlight resistance, and weather resistance.

Rubber seal O-rings are widely used in the sealing of diesel locomotives, automobiles, tractors, construction machinery, machine tools, and various hydraulic and pneumatic components, etc., and can undertake the sealing of fixed, reciprocating, and rotary motions. The circle accounts for more than 50%. According to needs, we can produce various special-purpose O-type rubber sealing rings, sealing rings, and special-shaped rubber sealing products for high-temperature resistance, low-temperature vacuum, high pressure, and different media. Compared with other types of sealing rings, O-rings have the following advantages:

1. Suitable for a variety of sealing forms: static sealing, dynamic sealing

2. Suitable for various materials, the dimensions and grooves have been standardized, and the interchangeability is strong

3. Suitable for a variety of motion modes: rotary motion, axial reciprocating motion, or combined motion (such as rotary reciprocating combined motion)

4. Suitable for a variety of different sealing media: oil, water, gas, chemical media, or other mixed media

Through the selection of suitable rubber materials and appropriate formula design, the effective sealing effect on oil, water, air, gas, and various chemical media can be achieved. The temperature range is wide (-60 ℃~+220 ℃), and the pressure can reach 1500Kg/cm2 in fixed use (used together with the reinforcing ring). The O-ring is simple in design, compact in structure, easy to assemble and disassemble, has an extremely simple cross-sectional structure, has a sealing effect, and has reliable sealing performance, so it is very easy to install and replace.
