What is O type rubber seal
O-rings (O-rings) are rubber seals with a circular cross-section. Because their cross-sections are O-shaped, they are called O-rings, also called O-rings. The material is mainly nitrile rubber or fluorine rubber. O-ring is the most widely used seal in hydraulic and pneumatic transmission systems. It is mainly used for static sealing and reciprocating sealing. Its speed range is generally 0.005 ~ 0.3m/s. When used for rotary motion sealing, it is limited to low-speed rotary sealing devices. Such as the dynamic sealing mechanism of the distribution valve of the central rotary joint of the hydraulic excavator. Generally O-rings are used less in rotary motion sealing devices. O-ring seals are generally installed in grooves with a rectangular cross-section on the outer or inner circle for sealing purposes. Compared with other types of seal rings, O-ring seals have the following advantages:
1) Small structure, easy to assemble and disassemble;
2) Both static and dynamic seals can be used;
3) The dynamic friction resistance is relatively small;
4) Use a single O-ring to seal in both directions;
5) Low price.
2. Marking of O-ring
The O-ring specification marking method is: inner diameter Фi × wire diameter d, for example: O-ring 20*2.4, II-2 GB1235-76, 20 represents the inner diameter of the large ring is 20 mm, 2.4 represents the cross-sectional diameter of the rubber ring is 2.4 Mm, Ⅱ-2 represents the type of rubber used, GB1235 represents the standard number, and 76 represents the year when the standard was published.
3. Application of O-ring
O-ring is mainly used for static sealing and reciprocating sealing. When used for rotary motion sealing, it is limited to low-speed rotary sealing devices. O-rings are generally installed in grooves with a rectangular cross-section on the outer or inner circle for sealing.
O-rings still play a good role in sealing and shock absorption in the environment of oil resistance, acid and alkali, grinding, chemical erosion, etc.
In machine tools, ships, automobiles, aerospace equipment, metallurgical machinery, chemical machinery, engineering machinery, construction machinery, mining machinery, petroleum machinery, plastic machinery, agricultural machinery, and various types of instruments, various types of seals are widely used element. Compared with other sealing elements, O-rings have a wide range of advantages:
