Selection of rubber sealing products

1. Nitrile rubber

NBR has excellent fuel oil and aromatic solvent resistance, but it is not resistant to ketone, ester and hydrogen chloride, etc. so the NBR is the main oil-resistant sealing product. The oil resistance of NBR products increased with the increase of acrylonitrile content, but the high acrylonitrile content of NBR had poor cold resistance. The modified by PVC can improve the elongation stress, tear strength and aging resistance of NBR.

2. Neoprene

Neoprene has good oil and solvent resistance. It has good performance of gear lubricating oil and transformer oil, but it is not resistant to high aromatic oil. Neoprene also has excellent weather and ozone resistance. The crosslinking temperature of neoprene is over 200 degrees, and the door and window edge strip is usually made of neoprene in production. Neoprene also has good corrosion resistance to inorganic acids. In addition, neoprene has good flexibility and air permeability, which can be made into diaphragm and vacuum gasket.

3. Natural rubber

Compared with most synthetic rubber, natural rubber has good comprehensive physical and mechanical properties, cold resistance, elasticity and wear resistance. Natural rubber cloth is resistant to mineral oil, but it is stable in vegetable oil and alcohol. The rubber bowl and rubber ring in hydraulic brake system composed of n-butanol and refined castor oil mixture are made of natural rubber, and the general sealing strip is also made of natural rubber.

4. Fluororubber

Fluororubber has outstanding heat resistance (200-250 degrees) and oil resistance. It can be used to manufacture cylinder sleeve sealing ring, rubber bowl and rotary shaft lip seal ring, which can significantly improve the service time.

5. Silicone rubber

Silicone rubber has remarkable high, low temperature, ozone and climate aging resistance. It can maintain its unique elasticity in the range of -70-250 degrees. Suitable for making the gasket needed in the thermal mechanism. Because silicone rubber is not oil resistant and the physical and mechanical strength is low, it is not suitable to make oil resistant sealing products.

6. EPDM

The main chain of EPDM is a perfect saturated straight chain structure without double bonds. Its sub-component maintains the flexibility and elasticity of molecular chain in a wide temperature range. The EPDM has excellent aging resistance (good in general rubber), anti pumping, climate resistance and heat resistance. It can be used for a long time in 120 degree environment, with high temperature of 150 ℃, low limit temperature of -50 degrees Chemical resistant products (such as alcohol, acid, strong alkali, oxidant), but not aliphatic and aromatic solvents, good electrical insulation performance, etc. The density of EPDM in rubber is low, so it has high filling characteristics, and its disadvantage is lack of self-adhesive and mutual viscosity. 7. Polyurethane rubber

Polyurethane rubber has excellent wear resistance and good air permeability. The temperature range is -20-100 degrees, and it also has medium oil resistance, ozone resistance and ozone aging characteristics.
